IN CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Arcee
Canon: Transformers Prime
OU/AU/OC: OU
Canon Point: End of the Predacons Rising movie.
History: boop
Personality: Arcee comes off, at first glance, as a confident type of bot; the dependable sort you can always count on in time of need. She is noted for her ability to complete tasks to the best of her efforts, described as the first one Optimus Prime goes to when he needs a job done. Even jobs she may show great disdain for will get done in a reasonable time, although her opinion will make itself known. She's cool and collected, always having something sarcastic or snarky to throw into a conversation whether it be idle chat with teammates or banter with hated enemies on the battlefield. Despite her small frame and limber build, she's determinedly fierce and not one to mess with. Loyal to the Autobot cause, she's protective over her team which extends onto her human allies.

Mentally, however, Arcee suffers from a lot of past problems and emotional baggage. Originally more of an eager fighter near the beginning of the war, the loss of her first partner, Tailgate, was more than enough to shut herself away from others. There was an overwhelming sense of failure, Arcee blamed his death on herself and she pushed people away so nothing like that could happen again. She preferred and made it very clear that she liked to take on the loner trope and go it solo.

That didn't last when she eventually took on her second partner, Cliffjumper, after a reluctant team up. With his optimistic and friendly personality, he was able to open her back up with patience and understanding. Using her skills and his raw power, they ended up being a great duo. In fact, it was Arcee who offered the partnership to Cliff, much to his surprise. If only good things could last for Arcee, because she eventually ended up losing him as well. With that, one would think there would be no turning back, and right away Arcee was making claims of working alone again.

Despite all of this, she slowly but eventually warmed up to the human, Jack Darby, after accidentally getting him mixed up in their war. Originally, her team up with Jack was another reluctant partnership; Optimus ordered Arcee to watch over him due to the possible threat of Decepticons going after him now that he was aware of their existence. She pretty much treated this like a chore, annoyed with the idea of around the clock babysitting. Although, as they continued to work together, Arcee became impressed by Jack's continued displays of bravery and his ability to think fast in dire situations. Slowly but surely, Jack has become probably one of the most important people in Arcee's life.

So even though she's no longer as optimistic as she once was in the beginning, no matter how many times she states she's going it alone for good, there will always be something to make her come around and change her mind. She's jaded, sure, but she's a fighter and that includes against her own emotions. No matter how bad things get or how down she may become, she'll find a way to push on and keep going. Even if it hurts. As far as getting to know her goes, she doesn't push away people as much as she used to. It is a bit harder to make friends with her than what it would have been in her earlier days, but it isn't impossible. Chances are, once you do break through, she's never letting you go.

When it comes to intelligence, Arcee can easily pass for street smart, but she isn't the bot to go to when it comes to science. She has no problem admitting she doesn't know how the higher end of Cybertronian technology works--along with Earth technology--and why should she? That isn't her job, there are others on the team to handle that. Fighting, however, she can manage. Being smaller and weaker than the majority of your race means you have to be faster and smarter than them when you go toe to toe. Things like using the environment to her advantage, distraction, sabotage, stealth and sneak attacks, you name it, they're all things she has to have down in order to survive. This makes her a dangerous opponent, one that has been remarked as being near impossible to catch.

That is not to say she's the perfect fighter or without flaws. There are a few things that make Arcee take all her fight smarts and throw them out the window. Namely the need for revenge, it will easily distract her and make her practically deaf to those around her. She has no problem chasing after her more hated enemies, even if it's probably straight into a trap. Again, this is really only for those who've wronged her in personal ways. More specifically, those who killed her partners. At the same time, even though she has on multiple occasions been given the chance to off her target for good, she does come to her senses. In the beginning it was usually thanks to outside forces telling her to hold back or to stop, but thankfully she's reached a point where she knows she isn't like the Decepticons and will opt to incapacitate a foe rather than kill them off altogether if the option is available. Arcee can get mean when it comes to revenge, but she is never a monster.

This is probably where pride comes in again, Arcee is very strong-willed. Both good and bad, even though it keeps her from becoming like her enemies, it also keeps her from doing things like admitting when she's wrong. Very rarely does Arcee put blame on herself, at least in small arguments. Surprisingly, when stakes are much higher and she isn't able to do something, she readily admits it was her fault and can get rather depressed or angry about the situation. A good example of this is when she failed to retrieve an amnesia-ridden Optimus Prime from the Nemesis, someone she holds in high regards, which may explain why she was so hard on herself.

Arcee's team is everything to her, which is funny considering she wanted nothing to do with them before she joined. Optimus, like what was just mentioned earlier, is someone she respects a great deal. She considers it an honor fighting by his side and although she may get snappy at him, push what she can get away with, or complain about orders (like watching over Jack), she eventually wises up and listens to him in the end. (Or in cases where she takes after someone against his wishes, probably expects his disappointment afterwards) Her partners, whether they be Autobot or human, are those she holds extremely close to her and she cares a great deal towards. In fact, she cares a great deal for all the team, showing concern for their well-being if they're hurt or in danger; they are her family. Anyone who does put her team in danger, especially the humans who are much more fragile compared to Cybertronians, will receive her rage. Funny enough, this doesn't stop at other Autobots who may have been careless. If anyone does anything she doesn't like, she's going to let them know. And OH will they know it.

Although it's rare, Arcee is not above having fun. Usually her sort of fun is involving herself in group activities like parties or watching the kids play. She has been seen cheering Jack on while he and the other children were racing toy cars and although she doesn't seem to have an interest in dancing at parties, she will watch everyone else in good spirits. If you can ever get her alone, or talk her into it, she has no problem showing off for people. Giving out rides, driving really fast, and pulling off fancy tricks are all things Arcee will do for anyone she gets close enough to. She may have a tendency to appear like she rather work and get things done, but even she needs a break every now and then. In fact, she could probably use more of them but, you know, that's war.

Wrapping this up, Arcee is a good bot with an attitude who fights hard for what she believes in. She has tendencies to make mistakes, but for the most part she's reliable and a loyal friend. Try not to make her angry and you should be good to go.

Strengths:

Fighting:
Arcee is a seasoned warrior with a looooong battle history. (This war has been going on for at least a million years) Although not as physically strong as the other bots, Arcee has always been able to use her small size, speed, stealth, and skills to her advantage and later became one of Optimus Prime's most dependable soldiers. It apparently got to the point where her skills made a name for herself among Decepticons as someone who couldn't be caught. (And then she got caught. Okay, not everyone is perfect.)

Weaknesses:

General:
I'm probably going to say this a thousand times more, but she's small. She isn't very strong. She might be fast, but the moment she's caught, there's not much she can do. Megatron can hold her like she's a barbie doll.

Possessions:
A bandana that wraps around her neck. The little ends of the knot are supposed to represent her old faux wings she had from when she was a robot.

Pony/Animal Type:
Overly adorable tiny cat

Arcee's always been ridiculously small compared to the other bots and I'd like to keep that aspect of her character intact, if you haven't noticed by how many times I've brought it up like a broken record. I don't know why, but I think it's cute and fun to play out a tough as nails shorty. I also think the usual traits of a cat (speed, stealth, flexibility, hates everything) fit her fighting style and personality a lot. The retractable claws are also similar to her retractable arm blades and I'm sure she'll get a kick out of that.

That and the character guide said sky's the limit and my sky is apparently filled with cats.

Cutie Mark: N/A
Pony Picture: Going with the beautiful design by RedMan. Except, to fit the setting, she has a regular cat head. (See icon)
SAMPLES
First Person:

[There appears to be one very disgruntled face on Arcee's side of the scroll. Namely hers. It's like she can't decide whether or not she's lost it enough to believe in magical paper.]

Okay, there's no way I'm doing this.

[And with that, she turns and walks away... leaving the scroll, erm, on as she grumbles off. It stays like that for a good while until she eventually comes back, apparently having talked herself into just going along with this. What's there to lose?! Besides sanity?!]

Look, I'm not in the mood to make friends or talk about, I don't know, cupcakes or whatever. I can't believe I even have to say that. It's like I tripped and fell into one of Bee's fragging cartoons...

[She grumbles again, looking off to the side in a huff. When she's done being a grump, she looks back into the scroll surprised, forgetting she was in the middle of something. Oh right, back to business.]

Let's just get to the point. If you can't help me, don't even bother talking to me.

Third Person:

It happened suddenly.

Waking up in unfamiliar territory, Arcee's instincts immediately kick in as she takes cover around the corner of a rocky cliff, looking over her shoulder every so often for signs of life. Preferably someone friendly. Bringing out and placing one blaster up, keeping her guard, she holds up her free hand and presses a finger against the comm ever so gently, trying to get a hold of the team.

"Ratchet, come in. I'm gonna need a bridge."

...Nothing. She curses under her breath before trying again.

"Ratchet?"

Still nothing. A shiver runs down Arcee's back, the thought of being completely out of contact with anyone was worrying to say the least. Granted, she can take care of herself just fine, but how long would it be until she saw anyone again? Were they even here? Where is here? A million possibilities rushed through her head at once, even the idea of this being a completely different planet didn't sound farfetched.

She has to try at least one more time.

"Base. Anyone. Someone pick up."

Again there's nothing. Arcee shakes her head, frustrated that she now has to deal with figuring this mess out by herself. It was more of a waste of time than anything, she had much more important things to worry about. Like winning a war. Well, enough's enough and she obviously wasn't going to get an answer anytime soon, it's time for a new plan. Now that it was pretty clear that she is in fact alone, she steps away from the safety of the cliff and begins to look around, examining the area for any hints or clues or anything. ...Nope, nothing. Nothing was familiar, and it was beginning to look like she wasn't going to find any signs of civilization for awhile now. Not unless she started to move it. One blaster is kept out and ready just in case she needs it; simply because she thinks she's alone, doesn't mean she should let her guard down. Never know, this could be some sort of weird trap.

Deciding that standing around won't get her any answers, she begins to walk off. Whoever dropped her here better hope she doesn't find them...
